So...hello...and what's new with you?
I'm sure you've noticed that I haven't updated or posted for a while now. As has been the case before, real life sort of ran away with me. Unfortunately, this time, the reason behind the chaos is that a virus snuck into my laptop...we're still not exactly sure of the method of delivery...and pretty much leveled my computer. Full system recovery. After two attempts I finally got it back in my hot little hands.
So, here's the good news. For some strange reason, I actually backed up 95 % of my files in September. I even made hard copies of everything I'd written to date.
The bad news is that the pieces I have been working on since the end of September are either split between my mini computer and a bunch of flash drives in various states of completion or possibly (hopefully not!) locked (LOST) in my hard drive that has had two full system restores. I'm sure you're aware of how difficult it might be to recover these files but I have to try and that means nothing can be loaded or used on my laptop until I do for fear of overwriting said files. SIGH! So, for the last few hours I've been involved in system recovery. No news as of yet if the patient is going to make it.
In the event that I could be successful, I am attempting to recover the files from the hard drive as we speak. If I get lucky, it will save me a few hours on each of my current storylines. If my luck is running along the same lines it has been for the last two weeks, I'll be back at step one (not necessarily the worst place to be because as I said I have notes and partials all over but it's going to take a little time to reconstruct and review).
My apologies up front. There will be another few days delay before any more updates. I will try to update something before the week is out if I can clear up some time to do so.
